Why Most AI Keywording Tools Hurt Your Stock Sales (and How CyberStock Fixes It)

In this video, I show you why most “AI keywording tools” are basically a cheap wrapper over OpenAI/Gemini — and why they can actually hurt your stock photography sales instead of boosting them. I also show how CyberStock uses real buyer search data, Google Trends and SEMrush to generate metadata that actually sells.

What You Will Learn in This Article

    • Why most AI keyword tools fail and generate useless descriptive keywords

    • How anyone can clone a keywording tool in 5 minutes using ChatGPT + Lovable

    • Why this approach does not help contributors get real sales

    • How CyberStock uses real buyer search data: SEMrush, Google Trends, 50M+ stock queries

    • Real examples comparing PhotoTag.ai, Pixify, IMStocker and CyberStock

    • How CyberStock builds a semantic core for every single image

    • How CyberPusher uploads metadata directly to Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Getty (Alpha)

    • Early Bird pricing + 20 free credits for testing

    1. Anyone Can Clone a “Keyword Tool” in 5 Minutes

I start the video by showing how easy it is to generate a full keywording web app using ChatGPT and Lovable.

I simply asked ChatGPT: “I have an OpenAI API key, create instructions for Lovable to generate a web app for keywording stock photography.”

ChatGPT writes the roadmap. I paste it into Lovable and within a few minutes I get:

    • a working web interface

    • a page for uploading images

    • a page for displaying AI titles and keywords

That's the point — it’s very easy to create a tool that looks real but solves zero real contributor problems.

    2. Why Most AI Keywording Tools Don’t Work

Most keywording tools on the market are simply using OpenAI or Gemini behind the scenes. They describe the image in natural language but:

    • they don’t use buyer search data

    • they don’t understand stock platform ranking systems

    • they don’t detect race, angle, niche, or buyer intent

    • they generate keywords nobody searches for

This is why contributors upload thousands of files and get zero sales — the metadata is descriptive, but not selling.

    3. How CyberStock Uses Real Buyer Search Data

CyberStock is built completely differently. Instead of guessing keywords, it uses:

    • SEMrush (Adobe owns this company)

    • 50M+ buyer search queries reverse-engineered from major stock platforms

    • Google Trends data through collaboration with Google AI

This allows CyberStock to generate metadata based on:

    • what is trending right now

    • in the US, Europe, Australia

    • where most stock buyers actually are

    4. Comparing CyberStock With PhotoTag, IMStocker and Pixify

In the video, I take one example image and process it through different tools.

PhotoTag.ai: “Smiling woman with long hair in a bright indoor room…”

    Nice English. Zero selling power.

    CyberStock:

    • detects race

    • detects portrait/headshot angle

    • generates keywords from real buyer behavior

    • places the image into multiple niches

    • creates chances to rank in less saturated niches → then major niches

    5. Titles + First 10 Keywords = Ranking (Adobe Stock Secret)

On Adobe Stock, the combination of:

    • the title, and

    • the first 10 keywords

    matters more than anything else.

CyberStock builds metadata specifically for this logic — putting the strongest selling keywords into the title and first positions.

    6. Semantic Core for Every Single Image

If you know SEO, you know the term semantic core—a set of keywords and long-tail keywords that people actually search for.

CyberStock generates a “mini semantic core” for each file you process. That’s why metadata becomes selling, not descriptive.

    7. CyberPusher: Upload to All Agencies in One Click

After your images are processed, you can push them directly to multiple stock platforms:

    • Adobe Stock

    • Shutterstock

    • Getty (Alpha)

    • Pond5, Alamy, etc.

You no longer need CSVs on Adobe or Shutterstock — metadata syncs automatically. You just re-upload your original files and submit.

    8. Early Bird Pricing + Free Credits

Right now we have Early Bird pricing, which will never change for users who join before the end of this year.

    We also offer:

20 free credits for every new user.

You can test the tool with your real portfolio and compare it against other keywording tools.
